White Christmas | 5:30 | Sanctuary | December 10
One of Dauphin Way’s longest standing traditions will have it 75th birthday in 2017. Our annual White Christmas will be December 10 at 5:30 PM in the sanctuary. The singers and ringing choirs of Dauphin Way will be accompanied by an orchestra comprised of instrumentalist from the Mobile Symphony. The service is based on scriptures of the Lessons and Carols Service that has long been used at this service. The music for this service will include the well-known hymns, such-as: Once In Royal David’s City, Joy to the World, and Silent Night. The choirs will sing arrangements of People Look East, O Little Town of Bethlehem, and Away In a Manger. To celebrate the 75th anniversary four new arrangements will be premiered at the service. The orchestra will play George Bizet’s March of the Kings and a new piece which will make its world premiere on December 3 by Minnesota composer and conductor, Steven Amundson.
Following the service the reception to meet and greet church friends and family will follow in McGowin Hall.
