The United Methodist Inner City Mission serves the greater Oakdale-Maysville community through a Christ-centered, holistic ministry. There is a wide range of programs that are provided in a safe, loving, and secure environment for people of all ages, regardless of race, religion, or creed.
The ministries include / recreation, enrichment and educational programs for youth and seniors, emergency services for families in crisis, safe evening shelter for homeless single women through McKemie Place, and community development for Oakdale-Maysville residents.
The Mission administers programs that address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the community: As our hands reach out, we see the face of God – in the faces of those we serve.
The Mission Is About:
Hope and change by giving children, youth, and families the help they need to improve their lives. Celebrating the lives of senior citizens by providing daily activities, special trips, lunches, and transportation to medical appointments and shopping.
Providing opportunities for volunteers to share in this ministry “to bring Good News to the poor,” Luke 4:18
Dauphin Way makes a financial pledge to the Mission. Each year we collect money to provide Thanksgiving turkeys for the family of the Inner City Mission neighborhoods. Dauphin Way members help with the upkeep of the Mission building during assigned workdays and help serve meals at McKemie Place. We take part in the yearly golf tournament to help raise money to support the Mission. If you would like to support this ministry, contact the church at (251) 471-1511.
